The New Normal: Eating & Drinking at Arisaig Hotel
15/07/2020
Hooray!! After four VERY long months, we are really excited to be open for business this week and while this is obviously incredibly welcome news, it is also important to remember that things are going to be a little different for a while, so please bear with us as we get used to the new normal.
Last week, we detailed how things are going to alter with regards to the accommodation side of things, but today we thought we’d talk food & drink at the Crofter’s Rest and highlight some of the changes that we’ve put in place to ensure that our customers can eat, drink and be merry as safely as possible:
Opening Times
While we familiarise ourselves with the new system, we have made the decision to temporarily reduce the opening hours at the Crofter’s Rest. Therefore, the bar will be now be open every day from 12pm – 10pm.
Lunch: Homemade soup and a selection of sandwiches will be available between 12.30pm – 4.30pm.
Dinner: The evening menu will be available from 4.30pm – 8.30pm.
Drinks: Due to space constraints and limited availability for hungry customers, drinks will only be served if you’re eating with us between 4pm and 10pm. You are more than welcome to enjoy ‘just a drink’ between 12pm and 4.45pm; however, following Government guidelines, you will need to be seated during your visit. We hope that this will be an evolving situation as we do love a natter at the bar with our drinking fraternity, so please bear with us.
Live Music
As you’re probably aware, we are obsessed with live music at the Crofter’s Rest, therefore we were really miffed to discover that our live music sessions won’t be able to go ahead in the short term. The minute that there’s a change in Government guidelines, we will endeavour to gather the many incredible local musicians in the area and the famous Crofter’s Rest music sessions will be back with a BANG!
Reservations
Whilst we will always strive to accommodate walk-ins, due to social distancing measures, this may not always be possible or could incur a long wait. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you reserve a table in advance if you're eating from 5pm onwards. Larger groups of diners (in one support bubble) can be seated together in one of two areas (the upper bar & family room). To avoid any confusion, a member of staff will always be on hand to welcome and show you to your table.
Menus
A reduced, but ever-changing evening menu with a handful of Crofter’s Rest classics will be available each night as well as vegan, vegetarian & gf options (please see a sample menu here).
Takeaway
All food & drink will be available for takeaway. simply call reception or use the app on the website to order your food where it can be collected at a designated pick up area.
Seating
We are incredibly lucky to have numerous spaces available within the hotel and bar to comfortably spread out and socially distance. The main bar area will not be used for seating; however, the upper bar, family room, dining room and the brand new covered and heated ‘Outside Inn’ will be open for business.
Payment
We're encouraging contactless payments to avoid handling cash. The contactless limit for card payments has increased to £45 and you can pay via the app too.
Cleaning
We've increased the frequency of our cleaning routines in all areas of the hotel and all tables will be thoroughly disinfected at the end of every guest visit.
Thinking of others
Please make good use of the sanitising stations throughout the hotel. If you develop any of the following symptoms during your time in Arisaig, we ask that you do not visit the hotel or any other local shop/business: a continuous cough, high temperature or shortness of breath.
