A Galician-Scottish twelve-strong supergroup, bringing the best musicians direct from Santiago de Compostela's thriving music scene together with accomplished Scottish musicians for a one-off exchange project.
Meaning the confluence of two waters, Ambas Mestas will showcase a vibrant performance that offers a full flavour of both regions, as well as a creating a fusion to highlight shared musical roots. The instrumentalists and singers will spend a week-long residency together to explore the sound of their common and diverse influences. The line up includes members of Os D'Abaixo, Holiday Club, Brua, An Conasg, Dowally and Kate Young.
Galician gaita bagpipes, voices, pandeireta, fiddles, flutes, saxophone, bouzouki and double bass will bring the concert to life. With xota and muñiera sharing close links with jigs and reels, this concert will celebrate Scotland's connection with Europe in a spectacular and unique performance.
