The Arisaig Hotel's COVID-19 Policy
Given the unprecedented situation regarding COVID-19, we want to update you on how we are moving forward:
Working with the Government
We will continue to follow official guidance from both the Scottish and UK Government and health authorities. The well being of our customers, employees and community is our number one priority. We will continue to ensure that our actions reflect the most up to date advice that is available to us.
We currently face an enormous amount of uncertainty, but you can rest assured that we’re doing everything possible to refund our guests where applicable.
Although we have logged an insurance claim, unfortunately the unprecedented amount of pressure on insurance companies, who are currently awaiting financial support from the Government, means that there will inevitably be a knock-on effect for both the hotel and our guests.
Similarly, while we are sincerely grateful that a good support package has been announced at business level, this too has yet to be made available to businesses.
The nature of our business, together with its remote location, means that we are entirely dependent on the holiday season to stay afloat and unfortunately, we are not set up for remote working. We feel that we have rightfully made the decision to retain our staff, who we plan on treating fairly as we do each individual booking.
With all of the above in mind, we are sorry to say that we simply don’t have the level of finances to refund all of our customers at this stage, but as previously stated, we really hope this situation changes and we'll be in touch with all future guets when we get to this point.
In the meantime, your personal travel insurance, which we always advise guests to take out, should cover you in this circumstance. We are, of course, happy to provide any information that might be required by your personal travel insurance.
As you can imagine, this is a monumental task as we confine ourselves to our houses and educate our children. We wish you and those close to you the safest and calmest passage through this unprecedented global event.
