Arisaig & Surrounds
The Arisaig Hotel is surrounded by some of the most stunning scenery to be found anywhere in Scotland, the UK or even the world!
That makes it a great base to explore the surrounding attractions such as the Small Isles of Eigg, Rum and Muck. During the summer months Arisaig Marine runs scheduled trips to all of these islands, departing from the marina opposite the hotel. The journey often takes a little longer than expected - due to sightings of whales, dolphins, seals and even the giant Basking Sharks!
The Jacobite Steam Train traverses the West Highalnd Line during the summer months, stopping at Arisaig Station (the most westerly station on the UK mainland). This service offers guests an amazing journey from Fort William to the hotel, passing through awe inspiring mountain scenery, around lochs and over the world famous Glenfinnan "Harry Potter" Aqueduct.
Just north of the village can be found the stunning "Silver Sands of Morar," the beach that featured heavily in the film "Local Hero." The Morar River (the shortest in the UK) and Loch Morar (the deepest in the UK) can also be found here.
Mallaig, the departure point for many of the Isle ferries is also only a 10 minute drive to the north.
